“Mom, we’re at Lilac Park,” Lee lied on the phone. “We might have dinner somewhere here, so don’t wait for Ash and me…”

Currently, we were sitting on a bench outside a convenience store, and I had just calmed down. But even though I was calmer, I continued to cry with occasional sobs.
