The days passed quickly, and finally, it was the day of Mary and Arthur’s 16th birthday.

Matheus had prepared a little party in the backyard for some friends.

Charlotte had arrived early and was still coordinating the foundation with Matheus.

She had married Alanna’s middle brother, had four children, and was seven months pregnant with the fifth.

“Matheus, where are the big plates?”

“They’re in the cupboard upstairs.”

“I think you need a new house.”

“I think so too. I want to see some land in the countryside, something big with plenty of space to ride horses, play golf. Something with a stream nearby.”

“Hmm, I think I know just what you’re looking for.”

“How? Where? When?”

“Wait,” Charlotte opened her notebook.

“Do you remember a couple of years ago when we were researching places to set up a new center for the foundation? Then we visited some properties that the family already owned and didn’t find anything suitable.
