Chapter 79
Alanna drove like crazy, stopping the car abruptly on the side of the road.
“We have to put an end to him, Vanessa. He can’t get away with this,” Alanna said, her voice filled with determination.
Vanessa sighed deeply. “Alanna, this is murder.”
“Just let Austin put an end to it. You said he’d put an end to it.”
“I did… But, Alanna, we’ll carry this for the rest of our lives.”
Alanna snorted in frustration. “How are we going to tell the children about this?”
A car pulled up behind them, and someone knocked on the window. Alanna rolled it down.
“You look like you’re planning a murder,” Matheus said, laughing.
“Who says we’re not?” Vanessa replied, laughing out loud.
“I’m really scared of you,” Matheus said.
“We didn’t kill anyone. Charlotte isn’t here to carry out the order; we’re harmless,” Alanna laughed.
“Okay, shall we have beer and pizza tonight? I need to get away from home today.”
“Me too,” Alanna agreed.
