When my father and I entered the restaurant, we placed our orders right away and then sat down at our table.

“Happy birthday once again, my daughter,” Daddy said while smiling.

“I’m thankful for you, Mom and Dad,” I said, and I gave them a tight hug.

“You’re welcome anytime,” Mommy said.

“Where did you and Simoune go earlier?” Daddy asked.

“Simoune arranged a hotel and brought balloons and banners to surprise me there,” I said.

“Simoune is extremely kind. I don’t even see her at home anymore. Is she okay?” Daddy asked.

“She’s busy with her boyfriend, Dad,” I said.

“What about you? Do you have a boyfriend?” Daddy said.

“I don’t intend to at this time,” I said.

“Bruce is great, isn’t he? Do you like Bruce?” asked Daddy.

“Bruce is just my friend, Dad!
