Chapter 20. Time With Jace

Garrett’s POV

Everyone had gone right back to their activities, and I went to my room after breakfast. I was thinking of going to see Jace to ask him to accompany me shopping for necessities, including clothes, when I was halted in my tracks.

My hand was already on the doorknob as I was about to open the door when I heard him. Jacob had gone to his bedroom.

My wolf rattled within me as I wondered just what he was doing there, clamoring for him to leave, when I heard him ask Jace to follow him. I was totally at a loss as to what he wanted with him, and I listened as Jace followed.

Perhaps I should have gone out then to ask where they were headed, but that would have seemed too awkward. Jace was here to work, I reminded myself. It would do no harm at all if Jacob decided to assign some duties to him.
