Chapter 23. The Eavesdropper

Jacob's POV

I was pissed this morning. It was all channeled toward Garrett as it seemed to me that he was doing his very best to get on my nerves.

I had been on my way to go get something which I could not quite recall at the moment when I noticed he was headed for Jace's bedroom.

It was totally unacceptable. I mean, he probably had been hoping that I would be passing and decided to go in there.

Since Jace's room was close to the staircase, I decided to sit there a little and eavesdrop on their conversation. There was something really strange about Garrett and it was the fact he seemed less distracted by anything and was interested in Jace's life.

Usually, his ADHD would never let him focus. I waited with hopes he would leave the room but then, it was getting late and I was getting really tired of waiting.

I decided to take a run into the night and started out quickly.
