Chapter 267. Standing up

There was a moment of stunned silence, the room frozen in shock. Elder Roy’s face turned a deep shade of red, his eyes widening in fury. The other elders exchange worried glances, knowing the gravity of Nate’s declaration. 

“You won’t dare, Nate!” Elder Roy shouted, his voice echoing through the chamber. “This goes against so much and you know!”

Nate stood firm, his expression unyielding. “I am the alpha, and I have the right to veto. You forced my hand, Roy. You left me no choice. But I am not going to let you kill my child and its mother.” He narrowed his eyes at the man. He could see blood coming from his nose, but not a lot. 

It must have been from the hit. 

“Nate…” The elder took a deep breath and let it slowly, walking bravely towards the alpha. “Do you want to be a disgrace to your parents? Because this is certainly the way to do that. Vetoing our decision is insane.”
