Maddie left the Andersons with tears in her eyes. Her heart was broken but she knew that this was the right thing. She knew that everything that Jacob had explained was true and even though it had hurt her deeply, she knew that she had to walk away and never look back again. 

Maybe…just maybe this was fate’s way of deciding for her; making the decision that she had never been able to make from the very beginning. Maybe this was fate’s way of saying that Nate Thorn was the one for her. 

As she drove back to the villa, her heart felt so heavy. She could barely breathe but she kept her focus on the road and forced herself to function.
