Author’s POV

Cassian stared at the body that lay there. He couldn’t believe his eyes for a moment, maybe it was all a dream. “Are you seeing this?” He turned to Lucian who had a look he couldn’t decipher on his face.

Lucian didn’t say anything, he simply nodded and then turned around. Something niggled at the back of his mind, something was wrong. He didn’t know what it was but it was there. The symbols, he knew he must have seen it somewhere else. He just forgot where.

Cassian followed behind him, both of them going back to the main house. There was one goal in his mind and that was to find his father. “Something’s wrong here, too wrong” he muttered, more to himself than Lucian who wasn’t even paying any attention.

Lucian had to take a moment, he had to think about what was in front of him. The conversation he had with Cassian all that time ago came back. The one father had told him, the one he hadn’t been able to believe easily. All of it was too muc
