When Tamara called Kat to the door in the early evening, she was in complete shock to see the nice guy from Theo’s game. Marcus. She grabbed her jacket and slipped her arms inside before she stepped out on the porch. Until he said what he was there for, she wasn’t about to invite him inside. 

“Marcus, wasn’t it?” Kat asked, trying to keep the confusion out of her voice. 

“That’s me,” he responded with a smile. The guy was charming, she would give him that. He handed her a big bouquet of flowers that had been tucked under his arm. 

“Thank you,” she responded and smiled up at him since he was several inches taller than her. “I don’t mean to sound rude, but I must say I am a bit surprised to see you here.”

“Well, I know it might be a bit forward, but I managed to find out where you were staying while you are in town and I wanted to come say hi before you left. Maybe see if you have time for dinner?” His continuous smile displayed perfect, white te
