Chapter 24

When Edith’s letter arrived around Halloween inviting her and Joey to spend Thanksgiving with her, Katrina felt torn. She would love to be there with Edith. Cook together, gossip and chat about all sorts of things. But she was terrified of seeing Theo and wasn’t completely happy about the idea of seeing Shane either. She knew none of this was actually his fault, but it still hurt that he hadn’t tried to mediate the situation more when he always did for Theo. 

To be on the safe side, she ended up calling Edith and asked her straight out if Theo would be there. Edith assured her that he would be busy with his team, and it would just be herself and possibly Shane there.  Deciding that seeing Shane was a necessary evil if she ever wanted to spend time with Edith, Katrina accepted the kind invitation. When Edith offered the use of her guest rooms, she thankfully accepted those as well. A mini vacation seemed like a perfect thing to look forward to for both her and Joey. O
