Chapter 20
Theo was slouching in the leather chair behind the desk in his study. The lights were off, and he could barely make out what was in front of him since the blackout curtains prevented any sunlight from entering the room, which was helpful when he had to watch game film in there. Right now, it was helpful because the darkness matched his mood perfectly.
When Vienna had called him late that afternoon and exclaimed happily that she was delighted to see how that ‘horrid woman’ had moved on from her crush on him, he hadn’t understood what she was rambling about. He quickly got off the phone and checked his emails on his phone while booting up his laptop. Shane had sent a link to a video with a question mark beside it, and when he clicked it, it all came together.
The pain when his heart broke into a million pieces actually surprised him. It hurt more than the recovery after the car accident. More than when he first realized that his marriage was failing. Theo leane
