(Damien's POV)

I wasn't being exactly truthful.

I didn't think I could let Lena go, even after what I did. I simply couldn't live without her; the last two years without her almost drove me crazy, and now that I know she also had my child... I just couldn't let her bare the burden alone. Also having the knowledge that there were people out there who wanted her, was just more reason I couldn't let her go.

There was more to my mate, and she was not at all as powerless or worthless as her parents had thought she was. I guess if they knew the kind of power she held in those slender fingers, they would never let her go; she would have been a big asset to them, and she would have been used and exploited.

No one should know about her abilities. I didn't know what it was, but I knew that there was much more to it than even I knew. She was simply spectacular, but she would never stop being my Lena. I didn't care what exactly she was; I would never stop loving her in
