Chapter 42
Nate had taken me out for a run in the woods; it was the most wonderful experience. My wolf was finally free; I couldn't believe she had been locked down for three whole years. She is just as happy as I am anytime we go out for a run, and Nate noticed it, so it became something we did daily. When he was busy, he permitted me to go alone.
Today was another new day, and all I wanted to do was have a run in the woods. I was getting better; my injuries healed quicker than they ever had, but there were still other injuries that would be permanent due to the fact they were not properly treated for years. That was the least of my problems; the mental injuries were the worst. No matter how much I didn't want to, I always found myself flinching anytime Nate made any sudden movement, and I never missed the sad look on his face when I did. I don't think he would ever be able to forgive himself for it.
