Chapter 35
Ethan’s POV
I walk down the stairs and spot Lowell back down the hallway outside my father’s office. I sneak up behind him and’s office. I quietly creep up behind him and forcefully prod my fingers into his sides, causing his body to involuntarily tense and leap.
He spun around, annoyance evident on his face. “Not cool Ethan! Not cool.” He turns back to the door and presses his ear to it.
“What are you doing?” I ask him, as I cross my arms over my chest. “He’s not here.”
He leans back, letting out an audible sigh as he does so. “He was.”
“Why are you eavesdropping?”
He walked in casually, as if I wasn't even there, and opened the door without a second thought.
“You know we’re not supposed to be in here.” I follow him in, not caring for my father’s rules, either. Lowell, with a determined look on his face, walks over to the desk and begins shuffling through the various papers and folders that have been strewn haphazardly on top of each other
