Chapter 40

Kyle's POV

I stride around the stained patio table, which has been placed on the flawed kitchen tile since the time I moved into this house. The sketch I drew of Sky is perched atop a chaotic stack of papers. With a sense of affection, I pick it up and lovingly touch it.

After carefully placing the drawing on the table, I take a seat in one of the mismatched chairs surrounding it. “What are we going to do now?”

“Can you tell me what you did? Try to sleep with her?” Megan asks as she leans against the sink with her arms folded over her chest.

“No.” I shake my head. “It was difficult for me to touch her as she barely let me.”

“Great.” Megan exclaims. “You were our inside, man.”

“ Anyway, there’s no way you can get back in her good graces?”

“No sir, I’m afraid not.” I shake my head. “She’s quite enamored with your son.”

The Alpha rolls his eyes from across the table. “I can’t imagine why.”
