Sky's POV

“Why Ethan? Why wait?”

“Because I need to protect you. Your well-being and existence hold greater significance for me than my sexual desires.”

I feel my face grow warm with shame.

“And what if I were to be killed tonight? You’d be okay with never experiencing the warmth of my embrace, never feeling the electricity between our bodies, never being close enough to hear my heartbeat, never waking up to my presence next to you?”
