Chapter 52

Sky's POV

While I am focusing my attention upward and allowing fresh air to fill my lungs, for some reason my thoughts keep going back to the goddess. The decision that she made to pile all of this work on top of me at once has me scratching my head and wondering what could possibly have prompted her to act in such a way. This has got to have some kind of rationale behind it, somewhere.

My eyes eventually land on Uncle Morris, who is rigidly standing in the door frame and unwaveringly looking at all of us while he does so. As I look across the vast expanse of the kitchen, my gaze eventually settles on him.

He shook his head as he asked, "What do you mean?" The way Owen is acting gives the impression that he is either in a state of shock or going through a period of confusion right now. Probably a little of both.
