Chapter 35. Accident

Avita became concerned when she noticed that it was now eight o'clock at night and Patrick, who was expected to arrive home at six o'clock, had not returned. She took out her phone and dialed his number. 

'He couldn't possibly have gone away from home to get even with me, could he?' 

'What exactly is going on?' 

She didn't want to have unusual thoughts, but certain things just eat away at your head and you can't stop them. Patrick answered the phone on the third ring, but his voice sounded strange. 

"Where were you? I've been waiting a long time!" 

[I will arrive in ten minutes. I'll tell you everything when I get back!] Patrick hung up without saying much. 

Avita was taken aback when Patrick abruptly hung up on her and began to question what was genuinely going on here. 

'Fine, because you said you'd be back in ten minutes. I'm not bothered by the wait!'
