Chapter 68. A Familiar Figure

Avita remained silent because she had nothing to say to whoever was residing in 14B. Comparisons may be lethal at times, as Avita discovered on this fateful day.

She felt like a frog in a well when she compared her Thandani home to this penthouse. She, too, felt like a joke, and when she remembered how pleased she was to show Lucilla around that day, a flood of humiliation washed over her.

However, Lucilla didn't see anything because Avita didn't reveal it on her face. She learned a lesson after nearly being exposed to displaying too many emotions.

After the grand tour, which made her head spin because she couldn't identify most of what she saw in the penthouse, she was finally at ease as she stood in the kitchen cooking lunch for Lucilla, who acted all sweet until she agreed to enter the kitchen.

She couldn't help but chuckle to herself as she looked at the fridge full of everything. 'I wonder how long she had been planning this!'
