Chapter 12
"And so, that was how we exchanged numbers and we're going on a date tomorrow."
Malia nodded, she didn't exactly hear what Amanda was talking about, but she nodded still. She grabbed her cup of tea and drank it slowly.
Amanda frowned. "I have a feeling you're not listening to me."
Malia sighed. She looked around her, breathing in the clean afternoon air. The sounds of birds chirping were worsening her headache, and so was the bright sunlight even though they sat under a shade. She rubbed her temples and sighed again.
"I am listening to you," Malia said. "I just can't believe you're seeing Cane."
Amanda rolled her eyes and flipped her hair over her shoulder dramatically. "Well, better believe it now."
Malia stared at the cup of green tea in her hand. When had she picked it up again? She felt very tired and wanted to just go home and sleep.
