Chapter 61
She turned her gaze to the doorway and there was Jamie. He was watching her with a pitiful look, spinning his apple pencil in one hand.
"Not now Jamie. I'm not in the mood for your attitude." Malia said, her voice clipped. She expected a clapback, more sarcasm perhaps. But all she heard was silence.
"I was genuinely concerned about you," Jamie said eventually.
Malia scoffed. "That's what you all say."
"I have no idea who you're talking about… although maybe I do. But, the point is, you should probably rest."
Malia glanced at him, her face a deadpan expression. "Jamie, for the last time… "
"Everything is fine, my lady! I handled it all perfectly! You can count on me." He ended with a flourish that made Malia roll her eyes.
She got to her feet and walked to the other side of her desk. There were a lot of letters there. She grabbed the letters and showed them to Jamie.
"Then explain to me why I got so many negative reports and complaints
