Emily’s POV
Surprisingly, the ride to the restaurant was fun.
We talked, he complimented me, sang along to radio tunes, cursed at drivers and flipped traffic police.
It felt like old times, before I knew he was my boss’s enemy.
And for whatever reasons, it reminded me of how it used to be with Wesley… before everything came crashing down.
The car pulled over in front of LaGrande, one of the most expensive restaurants in the city of New York.
The car door was opened, Jace held my hand, as he helped me out.
“Wow” I couldn’t help but murmur.
It was stunning.
The restaurant was buzzing with different dignitaries, I felt small but I shook it off.
I was here to have fun, not to wallow in self-pity.
