Chapter 27

Iris couldn’t breathe.

This difficulty with breathing was the thing that woke her up. She felt like a huge weight had been put to pressurize her chest and inhibit her breathing. It was too much and she was suffocating.

She opened her eyes to the glistening skin of a man in morning sunlight filtering through the wall-sized glass window. That is when the familiar intoxicating scent hit her. Yesterday’s events that led her to sleep in Dom’s bed, wrapped in his arms, ran through her head. After everything that happened, it was the current circumstances that made heat rise to her cheeks. That is when she realized it was his buff arm wrapped around her that was making it hard for her to breathe. For a second, till realization, the view was so naughtily mesmerizing, that she forgot to breathe and fantasized about waking up to this scenery every day.

She tried to move his arm or at least shift a bit so she could breathe. She decided to lie in bed, enveloped in her mate’s s
