Chapter 58. Two Souls One Body
The piercing scream echoed down the corridor, sending chills down my spine. My heart begged me to intervene, despite my mind's caution to stay away, because Hina's suffering and distress tugged at my sympathies.
I followed the noise into the hallway, where Edward had a firm grip on Hina's hand and was dragging her against her will. Her desperate struggles appeared to fuel his rage, and the audience watched with a mixture of wonder and concern.
"No, please, no!" Hina begged, tears running down her face, her once-tidy hair matted, and her ripped gown making her appear frail and defenseless. She battled like a cornered animal, looking for any way out, but it was evident that there was none.
Edward's strong instruction muffled her cries, and he brutally struck her face twice, leaving a severe red mark.
"Shut up!"
