Carter's pov

We were in the station giving our statements. They had separated us for a while but we already had our stories straight.

After our lunch with Benjamin, we told him what happened the night before and he has never been more shocked, mostly for her benefit because I told him everything.

He pretended to be shocked because she was there and he didn't want to make her feel awkward.

It was fun, but we had to run to the station. I couldn't wait for this to be over so we can begin our romance with nothing in our way. No secrets, just nothing in between us anymore.

While in my isolation, I thought of how she was doing and if the officers were troubling her, she wasn't one to crack under the pressure but she was pregnant and hormonal.
