Chapter 14. Brotherly/Sisterly
Avery’s POV
“Avery, look at me, breathe!” I heard Karl say, trying to calm me down. I took a few deep breaths and exhaled, trying to steady my breathing. After a while of trying, Mathias handed me the glass, and I gulped down the water in one swing. Thankfully my breathing was okay, and I decided it was better to speak up.
“It was a dream,” I breathed.
“What dream? What was it about? Tell me,” he kept insisting.
“Calm down, Karl. You might trigger another panic attack,” Mathias explained, making Karl loosen his grip on my arm.
“What happened, Avery?” he asked once again.
“A wedding.”
“A wedding? What wedding?” Karl’s brows furrowed as to what I was talking about. If I were in his shoes, I would have felt the same. I mean, I woke up screaming, and all of a sudden, I started talking about a wedding.
“Avery, if you don’t explain to us, we won’t understand what you’re talking about,” Karl soothed, trying to get me to talk.
