“Mrs. Reed. Do you have any idea as to where they have gone?” So she asked hopefully with her fingers crossed.

“I don’t exactly know to be precise but I heard them talking about going abroad, but maybe it was just for a holiday.. There was nothing said about keeping the room on, though. Or whether he had wanted to rent it back when he came back.” There was a slight edge on Mrs Reed's voice.

“I don't have any difficulty in renting off my rooms, of course.” She added. “Good food and a certain amount of freedom, So long as they don't take any liberties, has always been my motto, where young gentlemen are concerned.”
