"If I don't, I'm afraid he might run away, Gale. I know him," Darcy said, heaving a sigh.
Gale understood her situation and agreed for her to stay as he knew that Darcy knew her brother better than him.
He stood up to stand beside her again. “Darcy,” he said, “I want you to leave this to me, I mean Louis matter. Take some rest. I will go and get some food for us. And one more thing, once Louis wakes up, let me talk to him; maybe I can persuade him to come back with us.”
“It’s of no use,” she told him miserably. “Nothing you can say will make Louis change his mind."
“I’ll give it a shot, anyway,” he declared, “Then, if everything is okay with him, we can fly to Paris and then back home.”
So that was it! The whole affair was nothing but a nuisance to him, and he wanted just to get everything over and done so he could go back and resume his work, Darcy thought as she watched him go, his broad shoulders blocking the light from the doorway.
