Meanwhile, Gale and John were looking at Rachael helplessly.

"Then I would thank you in advance, Racheal; well then, let's get going." Darcy turned around and walked out of the room, with Gale and John following behind her.

Darcy and Gale entered the police station. The officer in charge welcomed them heartily as if they were long-lost friends, which amused Darcy, but when she saw him having a conversation with him, she knew that Gale knew the police chief very well.

“Darcy, come, this is an old friend, Mr Wendell Hall, a friend from my Uni days, and he is the one investigating the case.” Then he turned towards 

Wendell held Darcy’s waist possessively as if claiming his property.

“Wendell, meet my fiancée, Darcy Fletcher.”

Darcy's face went all red when she heard Gale refer to her as his fiancé. Technically, they were engaged, but it felt quite awkward.

Wendell looked at Darcy with a wicked smile and forwarded his hand for a handshake.<
