Chapter 23. Changes (3)

JunKoo spent the whole afternoon away. He arrived shortly after sunset and locked himself in his art studio. I thought about going to him, but I knew it was futile. I decided to wait and try to talk when he felt comfortable.

I knew he was truly hurt, but I didn't know if it was because of the trip or because he couldn't go. After sometime in the studio, I went downstairs to the living room, and we still remained in silence.

JunKoo was already in the kitchen preparing dinner and trying to do everything right, while I pretended to be browsing the internet but was actually torn inside by seeing us like this for the first time, silent and estranged.

I simply observed him, unsure of how to get us back to normal. Amidst all that restlessness, I heard the doorbell ring. I quickly ran to open it because I knew it was Hyun bringing Jiwan back.

"Hi, Daddy Minie," Hyun said, smiling with the baby in front of his body. "We're back!"
