Chapter 31. In Pieces (2)

The next day, unlike how I had gone to sleep with smiles and kisses from JunKoo, as soon as I woke up, everything felt off.

I couldn't explain it, but it was as if an extreme sadness had taken residence within me.

JunKoo, as usual, greeted me with a cheerful good morning as soon as he woke up, but I couldn't even muster a response. Nothing felt right inside me.

I replied to him in a neutral tone and went straight to my studio. Locked inside, I released YeHa from work even before she arrived, just so I could be alone.

I wanted to be alone, isolated. It was strange, but it allowed me to think about everything that had been happening.

"What's happening with you today?" JunKoo asked, crouching down next to me. We were on the studio balcony. I was looking at the trees while huddled up on the cushion he had placed there for me. He touched my face. "What's wrong, huh?"
