Kelsey POV
I changed my sweater twice before Garrison arrived.
The first looked too formal for a meeting in my own kitchen. The second looked suspiciously like something chosen specifically to prove I wasn't trying.
By the time I settled on a soft cream knit and dark jeans, I was irritated with myself. “This is ridiculous.”
“I didn't say anything,” Laura called from the hallway.
“You were thinking very loudly.”
She appeared in the doorway carrying the production folder and gave my clothes a brief inspection. “You look nice.”
The corner of her mouth twitched.
I pointed at her. “Don't.”
She laughed and checked the time on her phone. “By the way, I'm leaving tonight.”
I frowned. “Leaving where?”
“Bellevue. Just for twenty-four hours. Red-eye tonight, back tomorrow night.”
“For what?”
“A banking issue I need to handle in person.”
