Chapter 75. Creepy Time
The occasional barking of the faraway dogs breaks the silence of the night. Nancy, for the past hours, hasn’t been able to get hold of Rick on the phone. She’s more than worried and frustrated as she walks down the street, heading home.
She has left a dozen voice messages asking Rick to call her back as soon as possible. This is one of her worst nights. At first, she thought Rick compelled his way out of police custody. It looks like there’s more to that.
Her sight was drawn to a waste bin and standing beside the waste bin was Daryl. His face looks mean and serious as he continued to stare at her.
Nancy’s heart skipped seeing him. She wanted to run but finally summoned courage.
“You better don’t do anything stupid. People are watching,” she whispered, knowing he could hear her no matter how low she spoke. She’s still terrified about her encounter with Daryl and how he threatened Matt.
