Kaelynn’s POV

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Mila sleeping on the couch inside my room. Then, I tried getting up from my bed, but my body felt heavy, making me groan.

"Kaelynn, you're awake!" Mila exclaimed after she woke up when she heard the slight noise I had made.

"No, don't push yourself too much. Your body still needs more rest," Mila said. I tried to speak in response to her, but my throat felt so dry that it hurt every time I tried to utter a word.

"Here, drink this. I'm sure your throat is dry," Mila said as she gave me a glass of water and helped me drink.

"Finish this first. I'll go fetch you a warm soup," Mila said, so I nodded at her. Then I tried to speak again after drinking the glass of water.

"Tha-Thank...you...Mila." I uttered and smiled at her, which she returned with a smile as well. Then, she walked out of the room.
