Chapter 109. Skipping School

I receive a notification on my phone as soon as we're seated in the restaurant. "If that's Justin, tell him to leave your ass alone," Kol says as he picks up the menu.

I reach into my pocket and pull out my phone. "I will," I sigh as I scroll down to view the notification. "It's a direct message from Mr. Beaumont." Kol slides down his menu to give me a look.

He stares at me expectantly. "Well, what does it say?" He locks eyes with me as he asks.

I read the notification aloud after clicking on it.

Sebastian: "Hey, Via, what kept you out of class today? Don't tell me you're neglecting us this much, please. Your education is important, so don't waste it."

Kol grins. "Aww, he cares."

I scowl and thrust the menu towards Kol. "Oh, shut up." I turn back to my phone and prepare to text him.
