For the last two weeks, Maxine had not heard anything from her loved ones who had been left behind. She was hurt when Stanley cheated on her, and she was hurt even more because despite everything that happened between the two of them, she couldn’t deny that she still loved the man and that she missed Heather too.

After remembering Heather, she immediately dialed the number at their home so she could say hello to the child, at least for a moment.

After a few rings from the other line, someone suddenly spoke with a small voice. It was Heather.
