Chapter 23

Alexander’s POV

As I return to the kitchen, I trick my boss into allowing me to get my cellphone that I am now grateful to own. It is a burner cell, but it works for everything. As I slip it into the pocket of my trousers, I walk out to take the orders to her table. When I give their food I glance around the room to take my cell out as I do. I show them both about how I never lied to either one of them as I show the picture Aloisa’s heart rate picks up until I reassured her that Orlando will not be here.

Believing the next picture of the restraining order my job gave him for his inappropriate behavior one day after he had a fight with his eldest daughter. As they see the pictures I am showing them their heart rates lower and I become much calmer at hearing them, but one thing is not helping me as I know there are other people here I can distinctly hear another heartbeat.
