As Rojas finished speaking, my head was spinning. I didn't know what to do or say. I needed to talk to Mario.
"Excuse me," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Can I use the bathroom for a moment?"
Rojas nodded, and I hurried out of the room, phone in hand. I dialed Mario's number and waited for him to pick up.
"Hey, Reina," he said.
"Mario," I said, my voice shaking. "I don't know what to do. Rojas just offered me the job, but I don't feel ready. I don't think I can do this."
Mario paused for a moment. "It's okay, Reina," he said. "Just tell Rojas that you need some more time to think about it. We'll come up with a plan together."
I felt a sense of relief wash over me. Mario was right - I wasn't ready for this yet. But I knew that with his help, I could get there.
Taking a deep breath, I walked back into Rojas's office. "I'm sorry," I said, my voice steady. "I don't think I'm quite ready for this opportunity yet."
