I felt like the air had been sucked out of the room as I watched Kylian walk away, his shoulders slumped and his expression a mixture of shock and hurt.
As I took a step towards the guest room, I caught a glimpse of Rojas standing on the stairway, a smirk on his face. He had been eavesdropping on my conversation with Kylian.
