Chapter 89
As soon as I walked into Mario's mansion, I saw him sitting on his favorite couch, sipping on his wine. I could see the anger in his eyes, and I knew I was in for a tough time. I took a deep breath and walked towards him, trying to look as calm as possible.
"Hey, Mario," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
He didn't reply immediately, but kept looking at me with an icy stare. I could feel my palms getting sweaty as I waited for him to speak.
"You really messed up, Reina," he finally said, putting down his glass.
"I know, Mario, and I'm sorry," I replied, feeling a lump form in my throat.
"Sorry is not enough this time, Reina," he said, his voice growing louder. "You know the rules of our organization, and you broke them. You betrayed us, and that's not something I take lightly."
"I know, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it up to you," I said, trying to sound sincere.
