Chapter 4
She felt her face flush and she let out a long sigh. “You smell good,” she admitted in a low voice.
“Is that a bad thing?” He grinned, and his eyes sparkled with amusement.
She rolled her eyes. “You also feel good, and that is bad.”
His fingers trailed around her throat to the back of her neck. “Why is it bad?” he asked, his voice very soft, very low.
“I have rules,” she said, but for the life of her, she couldn’t remember them or even why she’d made them.
“What kind of rules?” He lowered his head.
“No-guy rules.” God, her heart was pounding and her knees shook. “No dating.”
“How about rules against kissing?”
Lorilee tried to pull away, but his arm around her tightened. “You want to kiss me?”
“Very much so.” His breath fanned her cheeks, warm and soothing.
“You’re very good looking. One of my rules is no more handsome men.”
