I found out who gave me the poison the next day. Gabriella told me that Rachel was locked up because she was caught getting the bottle. She later admitted that she had done wrong. I sneaked down to her to talk.

"Why would you do this to me, Rachel?" I did ask.

Princess, I'm so sorry. "I'm so sorry," she said with tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry I hurt you. "I just didn't want you to bring mates back."

I asked, "But why?"

"What if Simon isn't my friend?" She did.

"Why didn't you just tell me about it?" I did ask.

"I apologise. I was scared. After we finally got together, I was so afraid that I would lose him. "I'll do what I have to do," she said.

"No, Rachel, if you hurt a member of the royal family, you will die," I told her. "I can't just let them kill you."

"But I poisoned you," she said, tears rolling down her face. "I'm not worth living. You're so nice, and I let you down."
