Chapter 47
Despite all of the cautions in the journals, no one did anything. Nobody chose to step up and do what was right for the people. My father is to blame. I need to stop him, but how? Even if I didn't abdicate, I wouldn't be able to take the throne for another six years. If I summoned the council, I'd need more evidence than just the statute he had against the rogues. This would be disastrous for my father. Can I bear the consequences?

I launched myself at Viktor the next day as soon as I saw him. I wrapped my legs around his torso and kissed him passionately.
"If that's the way you're going to greet me, I should stay away from you more often," he added.
"You better not," I murmured as I let him go.
"I think I found something on your father, too," he continued.
"Not here," I explained. "Let's go into my room."
He followed me up to my room and took a look around. He was picking up items for a closer look before hopping on my bed.
