Chapter 148. A Blast

Sophia’s POV

“You deliberately held back, didn't you?” I asked Jacob as I helped him walk to the clinic.

“I didn’t,” he mumbled. “That would be massive disrespect.”

I agreed, and if he ever does so, I’ll be the one to beat him up. I felt his happiness through our bond.

“What is it?” I slightly leaned my head to see his face.

“What is what?” He tilted sideways, and we almost lost balance. Goddess, good thing I managed to pull him in the opposite direction.

“Why are you so happy when your ass was kicked?” I sighed, and now it is my time to worry about him.

“It’s because you’re worried about me and.. Gamma Hugh and Beta John actually reciprocated my bow.” He chimed like a child, and I felt warm with his innocence.

“That wasn’t a big deal,” I commented. He squinted his brows and sparingly said, “You even cried! What do you mean it’s not a big deal!”

“I didn’t cry! Something was on my eye!”

“Then why do the tears come from both eyes!?”
