‘How many months has it been, Lia?’ I asked my wolf. ‘Pia.. It is only just a day and a half..’
I bitterly chuckled. What the heck is up with that? That is impossible! Hatchett constantly drew blood every day!
‘That is actually every ten minutes. After they let you eat a little bit of food.’ Lia grabbed a huge portion of my pain as she howled in misery.
‘No! Lia, stop it!’ I yelled, but she insisted. She is as stubborn as me, alright.
‘I should at least protect you.’ She whimpered. ‘I’m sorry I wasn’t good enough of a wolf. So weak and useless.’
‘Ssshh. You are the best! What are you talking about? We can make it out of here! Jacob and Luke are waiting for us! Maybe even on their way!’ I tried to cheer her and myself up. Imagining our mate’s face is the only thing that is barely keeping us sane and alive. Lia didn’t answer after that; maybe she is resting for now.
