Hans’s POV
We moved like shadows, silent and swift as we closed in on the thieves’ camp. The scent of our stolen goods was thick in the air, mingling with the smoke from their fires.
Rio, flanking the right, shot me a glance. “Six—maybe seven of them. Armed.”
I nodded. “We get in close, see if they talk first.”
If they had been reckless enough to steal from us, they were either desperate or bold. Either way, they needed to learn a lesson.
We crept forward, keeping low as we maneuvered around the wagons. Their stolen bounty sat in neat piles, and I spotted a familiar emblem burned into the crates. Midnight Pack’s mark.
