A low growl rumbled in my chest as I took a step forward, my fingers curling into fists at my sides. My wolf surged, claws itching beneath my skin, demanding justice. The sight of our scout—barely conscious, his face swollen and streaked with blood—sent a sharp bolt of fury through me.
The scarred man chuckled, tilting his head as he watched me. “I take it you recognize him?”
I forced myself to stay calm even though all I want is to snap his neck right at this very moment. “What do you want?”
His smirk widened. “A conversation.” He gestured lazily toward the scout. “A show of good faith, if you will. A little proof that we are not your enemies.”
I scoffed. “You beat one of my people half to death and expect me to believe that?”
