Chapter 51. Rest?

Jacob's POV

"What's so deadly about that trail? They were just mere flowers! The only advantage it has is that those goddamn plants are giants!" I slightly raised my voice. I am fully aware that my gestures are rude. Again. But hey! I can't just let him underestimate us!

"It looks like you are now okay. Seeing your vigor is finally back." Sir Payne smirked, obviously avoiding my queries.

"How many days has it been?" I asked, hoping it hasn't been days or worse, a week like what that nurse said. But she did say something along those lines, so I estimated it hasn't been a week yet.

"A day. You all passed out yesterday. The others are already starting their mock mission again." With what he said, I was about to stand up, but he quickly strided to stop and hold my chest. Forcing me to lay back.

"I know you may want to go home as quickly as you can. But no. Rest first. You need to get your strength back. I feel the same way too, believe me.." he calmly stated.
