"..I'm willing to forgive you for now. I may not know the reason, but it must be too deep for you to share.." I added, and he just stared at me with his mouth slightly open.What's he so surprised about? I'm the one who's quite perplexed! I'm only doing this for Lia, after all.

'Falling for me now?' I smirked, using his words against him. Carter scoffed as he looked away. He muttered, 'You wish!' in the mind-link.

"Thanks.." he mumbled after silence consumed us once again. I just nodded slowly, and we resumed eating.

Once we were done, he stood up and placed his hand in front of me. Indicating that he wants to help me stand up.

"Please.. I can manage.,"

"I insist. Luke wants to make it up to Lia," he demanded.
